Scientific Name: Trachelospermum asiaticum
Common Names: Asian Jasmine, Ground Jasmine, Asiatic Jasmine

Native to: East Asia (China, Korea, Japan)
Lighting Requirements: Full sun to partial shade
Height: Typically 6 to 12 inches as ground cover; can climb up to 4 feet if given support
Width: Spreads 2 to 4 feet, depending on growing conditions
Winter Look: Evergreen; maintains glossy green foliage year-round in mild climates
Seasonal Interest: Attractive dark green leaves provide year-round interest
Drought Tolerance: High; drought-tolerant once established
Soil Requirements: Well-drained soil; tolerates poor soils
pH Range: Slightly acidic to neutral (6.0–7.0)
Hardiness Zones: USDA Zones 7–10
Deer Resistance: Moderately resistant
Potential Issues: Can spread aggressively and become invasive in some regions; requires periodic maintenance to prevent overgrowth
Notes: Popular as ground cover; low-maintenance and provides a dense mat of foliage; great for erosion control, but needs regular pruning to manage growth.

There are a few different varieties, even some with white and pink variegation, though I have not seen them grow as well as the plain green ones.
