Evergreen , semi-evergreen and deciduous varieties

Bloom times differ depending on variety. Some begin in March, most in May (midseason/peak season), and late varieties towards the end of summer. Individual flowers last a day. The blooming season typically lasts 4-5 weeks.

Stella de Oro (aka Stella D'Oro) is a commonly recommended, repeat blooming variety that can bloom much longer than 4-5 weeks (120-158 days according to the National Gardening Association).

Fun fact: Hemerocallis comes from the Greek words hemera (day) and Kallos (beauty).
