Algerian Ivy looks very similar to English Ivy with larger leaves that are more widely spaced along the stems.
These plants really are beautiful as a ground cover or wall cover, but we must consider their ecological threat. These are an invasive species that, if allowed access to wild areas, they can overtake the landscape, choking out our native species. Birds can eat the berries and spread the seeds as well.
Consider using our native Virginia Creeper instead, or Confederate Jasmine as an evergreen option.
